What can be checked?.

  • The appearance and integrity of the plantar fascia.

  • The cortex of the calcaneum at the plantar fascia origin.

This scan focuses on the plantar fascia (assessing for fasciopathy).

If you require additional anatomy/pathology to be checked e.g. tendons, ligaments, joints, Morton’s neuroma, synovitis etc, consider booking an ankle/foot scan. If you are unsure and would like to discuss which scan to book, please contact us via phone or email.

Preparation?

Shoes and socks will need to be removed from both feet.

Report:

You will be given a printed copy and/or emailed an electronic copy of the ultrasound scan report.

Images from the scan can be purchased at the reception desk. Please note: Due to various guidelines stated by the Society of Radiographers (Recording of Images and Clinical Discussions, SOR, 2019), photographs cannot be taken during the examination room at Dragon Ultrasound.
